Entitlement
The Employee will be entitled to a maximum of 28 days paid holiday inclusive of public holidays (pro rata). The holiday year will commence on the 1st November until the 31st October for each complete year of service.
No holidays will be taken in the first 3 months of employment, unless holiday has been pre-booked, and agreement has been reached prior to commencement of employment. Thereafter, in the first year of employment, paid holidays taken will not exceed the current entitlement.
Holiday entitlement must be taken within the dates specified. Any unused entitlement cannot be carried forward into any subsequent year without the prior written authorisation of the General Manager or his/her designated deputy and no payment in lieu of holiday will be made in respect thereof.
The Employee’s holiday will only be taken at times to be agreed mutually with his/her Head of Department, and due regard must be taken of current business trends, as in the busiest months, holidays will not be taken.
Termination
If the Employee’s employment terminates for any reason he/she will be entitled to an amount of accrued holiday pay in direct proportion to the length of his/her service during the Holiday Year in which the termination takes place, less any holiday entitlement actually taken. He/she will be required to repay to the Company pay received for holiday paid in excess of his/her basic entitlement. Any sums so due may be deducted from any moneys owing to him/her at the time of or after the termination of his/her employment.
